REGIONAL Australia's colourful silo art projects will be splashed across stamps as part of Australia Post's new stamp set.
Featured on the $1 stamps are Guido Van Helten's mural in Brim, Victoria, Drapl and The Zookeeper's project in Thallon, Queensland, Amok Island's Banksia-inspired mural in Ravensthorpe, Western Australia and Heesco Khosnaran's agricultural project in Weethalle, New South Wales.
"Silo art projects have been appearing across Australia since 2015 and are a magnificent symbol of the local people, natural environment, history and industries that are at the heart of these rural communities," said Australia Post's philatelic manager Michael Zsolt.
"The remarkable painted grain silos have revitalised the local towns, many of which have suffered from drought or population attrition. These murals have put these small country towns firmly on the national and international map, attracting an increasing number of visitors".
The products available with this stamp issue include a first day cover, stamp pack, minisheet, maxicards, self-adhesive booklets of 10 and a booklet collection.
The Silo Art stamp issue is available from 21 May 2018 at participating Post Offices, via mail order on 1800 331 794 and online at auspost.com.au/stamps
