Keep an eye out for bikes
Friday, 6th October, 2017
LOOK out for motorbikes - hundreds of riders will be out to mark Motorcycle Awareness Month.
They'll be riding 145km on October 8 from Berowra to Cessnock in NSW to remind drivers to look twice for bikes.
As well as boost awareness, the riders will raise money for the Motorcycle Accident Rehabilitation Initiative (MARI) to help rehabilitate injured motorcyclists across Australia.
"Seeing the large group of motorcycles on the local roads helps the community to see motorcyclists as fun-loving people who enjoy life and care about road safety," said Motorcycle Council of NSW treasurer Steve Pearce.
"We want drivers to look twice for us on the road, so hopefully this will put us at front of mind and raise funds for MARI."
The riders will leave Berowra RSL Club at 9.30am, after a flag off from Hornsby mayor Phillip Ruddock, before passing through Calga, Central Mangrove, Kulnura and Wollombi then finishing in Cessnock.
