It can be disheartening when illness and disability take away the simple pleasures in life – like relaxing with a cup of tea.
That’s where clever design comes in. And when it is combined with modern style, that’s even better.
That fusion of simplicity and style has come together in a new kettle designed to help those with arthritis or other disability that makes it impossible or painful to lift and pour a pot of hot water.
The Uccello PowerPour Kettle was designed by master craftsman and entrepreneur Andy De Petra for his WA-based company.
The kettle, with its pendulum arc of forward motion design, resembles a small bird – uccello means bird in Italian.
It rests in a stable base when not in use and uses “power pour” technology that tilts the kettle housing to deliver hot water into the cup, without causing undue pressure and weight bearing to the hands of the user.
The kettle can be easily removed from the base if needed. A large hinged lid with wide spout allows easy access to refill.
