Now, the duo's frontman, songwriter and founder Per Gessle picks up the torch and takes this bundle of worldwide hits on the road again.
It's almost five years since Roxette lost Marie Fredriksson to cancer. A devastating loss that left family, friends and fans in grief.
Their legacy of songs has continued to thrive, being constantly streamed, played, and enjoyed by old and new supporters around the world.
The super Swedes were a hit-making machine in Australia with four Top 3 albums with Look Sharp!, Joyride, Tourism and Crash!Boom!Bang!, hit songs Dressed For Success, Listen To Your Heart, Dangerous, Fading Like A Flower, and number one singles The Look, It Must Have Been Love and Joyride.
2025 will see a live revival of this massive catalogue, all penned by Per Gessle, when he takes the Roxette band back on stage to do what he loves most - perform his songs live in front of a dedicated audience.
It includes a tour of Australia plus two a day on the green events with Boom Crash Opera and Jon Stevens.
Per and the band will be joined on stage by Swedish singer and megastar Lena Philipsson.
Per said: "This is all about my Roxette songs, this huge bundle of music and lyrics I've been writing for well over three decades. I'm not starting a new duo. Marie will always be irreplaceable. However, I'm really lucky to have found an amazing voice and a brilliant performer in Lena Philipsson.
"I co-wrote Lena's first major hit back in 1986 and she's one of the brightest shining stars Sweden has ever known. I'm extremely proud she wants to join me in my trek to keep the Roxette legacy alive."
Lena said: "I'm both excited and thrilled about embarking on this tour. I really look forward to working with Per - he is a phenomenal songwriter and a never-ending musical force."
The Roxette band will consist of Christoffer Lundquist, Magnus Brjeson, Magnus "Norpan" Eriksson, Dea Norberg, as well as original Roxette icons Clarence Ofwerman and Jonas Isacsson.
Roundhouse Entertainment, in conjunction with Mellen Events and Live Nation, announced the tour.
Nine years since their last Australian tour, Roxette In Concert will begin the Australian leg in Perth and tour the country before making a very welcome return to a day on the green, performing at Bimbadgen, Hunter Valley on Saturday, March 15, and Sirromet Wines, Mount Cotton, on Sunday, March 16, in what will be Roxette's only Queensland show.
Joining Roxette at their a day on the green concerts will be two very special guests - rock legend Jon Stevens and hit machine Boom Crash Opera.
Jon Stevens is one of our most talented and acclaimed rock performers. Jon was already a star in New Zealand when he relocated to Australia in 1981. In Australia, he found fame fronting Noiseworks, who had four Top 10 albums and 12 Top 50 singles, including the classics No Lies, Take Me Back, Touch and Hot Chilli Woman. Jon then fronted INXS for more than three years, and has had phenomenal success as a solo artist with his powerhouse vocals and electrifying live shows.
Boom Crash Opera are one band you can rely on. One of Australia's most-loved bands, they are an intoxicating mix of indie pop and stadium rock. With 13 Top 50 singles and five Top 50 albums, and unforgettable hits and anthems such as Great Wall, Hands Up In The Air, Get Out Of The House!, The Best Thing, Dancing In The Storm, City Flat, Her Charity and Onion Skin.
