GARDENING enthusiasts can volunteer at the largest botanic garden in Australia.
The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan has a range of new volunteering opportunities available, including garden guides.
The guides will learn all about the garden then share their knowledge with visitors from around the world.
Volunteers manager Donna Osland said volunteering had many benefits, including engaging with the community. “There has been much local and international research on the health benefits of spending time in nature, and recent research has highlighted just as many benefits from volunteering,” Donna said.
Volunteer guides need to be able to conduct walking tours or drive a bus on guided group tours. Regular training is provided and volunteers are supported with bimonthly meetings and staff updates.
An information session will be held at the south-western Sydney site at noon on August 1.
RSVPs are recommended and morning tea will be provided.
