SENIORS in Victoria are being urged to have their say on the aged care system.
Victoria's Council on the Ageing wants to hear how the aged care system is working for older Victorians.
The volunteers, or "design partners", will be asked about what issues are important to them and about policy decisions that affect them.
"With major changes in the way aged and community care services are delivered, we are keen to find people who wish to be involved in making sure that the aged care system is working for them and those they support," a COTA Vic spokeswoman said.
The design partners will be called upon when Governments are seeking COTA's view on the way the system is working or any proposed changes. The organisation is also looking at ways to help people navigate the aged care system.
One project COTA Vic has been asked to help with is to identify the sort of information seniors might be looking for when engaging a home care service.
"How would you like that information presented? What would help you to compare information across a number of providers? These are some of the challenges we will work on in our design groups," said the spokeswoman.
Costs of participation, such as transport costs, will be covered. To register your interest phone (03) 9654 4443, www.cotavic.org.au
