WHILE parts of Australia are feeling the relief from a cool change today, temperatures are predicted to rise again next week.
And with hot temperatures comes an increased risk of bushfires.
Queensland's Rural Fire Service (RFS) regional manager Tony Johnstone said people should remain extra careful in heightened fire conditions.
"Warm temperatures combined with low humidity and increased winds create conditions where fires may develop rapidly and become more intense," Mr Johnstone said.
"We're asking all residents to be on the lookout, stay vigilant and report any bushfires to Triple 000 immediately."
He said people should prepare their homes and properties early so they are not caught off guard.
"Make sure you finalise preparations around the home and visit the RFS website to download your Bushfire Survival Plan."
