SENIORS across the ACT will Love later life as they celebrate Seniors Week from March 18-26.
More than 200 events are planned, including the ever-popular Chief Minister’s Concert with entertainment by the Royal Military College Band and the Australian Rugby Choir at Albert Hall on March 21. Bookings are required.
One of the highlights of the week will be much-anticipated The Senior Seniors Week Expo. Thousands of seniors are expected through the Exhibition Park, Canberra, gates to connect with more than 120 exhibitors.
To be held on March 23, the expo will feature entertainment throughout the day as well as cooking demonstrations and the chance to “crack the code” and win $2000. Visitors can also take part in interactive exhibits to celebrate ageing.
Canberra entertainer Phil Major will entertain with show tunes and dancefloor hits from the likes of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra with a little bit of ABBA thrown in.
Action Bus Service will run free shuttle buses to the expo every half hour from the Woden Bus Interchange, through to the City Bus Interchange and onto Exhibition Park (and back).
Other events during the week include retirement village tours, open days and discounts to attractions.

Festival fun for NSW
THE countdown has begun to this year’s NSW Seniors Festival and, as usual, seats at the Premier’s Gala Concerts are the hottest tickets in town.
Concerts will be held at the International Convention Centre Theatre, Sydney, on March 7-8 (11am-12.45pm and 2.15-4pm each day). Tickets to the concerts are free, and bookings opened on January 31.
Whether you secure concert tickets or not, there’s still plenty of reasons to head to the convention centre.
The 2017 NSW Seniors Festival Expo next door on both days will see more than 70 exhibitors display their wares and services. There will be giveaways, great show bargains and interactive sessions to inform and inspire. The expo will run from 9am-4pm each day.
Other festival highlights include the Comedy Debate at SydneyTown Hall and the Australian Museum Seniors Day, both on March 9.
The NSW Seniors Festival from March 3-12 will feature hundreds of free and low-cost events right across the state under the theme Let’s do more together.
