At the opening, Mayor Thorley described the village as "a wonderful development for Toowoomba" providing "an essential link to our seniors" and quipped "have you got a unit for me?" Located just across the road, Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre offers approximately 80 shops including a Woolworths supermarket and Big W variety store, chemist, post office and several banks. An air conditioned residents' clubhouse features a dining room, lounge and large television. Meal and linen services are available, with parking spaces provided for residents and visitors. Oxford Crest Toowoomba's units comfortably accommodate both singles and married couples and are offered either furnished or unfurnished. All units feature an ensuite, built-in robe, and kitchen with portable ovens/hot plates. Front and back doors to each unit allow for flow-through breezes, and create comfortable verandah-style sitting areas.
