PASSENGERS aboard the Indian Pacific train from Perth to Sydney now have the chance to explore the Blue Mountains before arriving into Sydney.
The new excursion, to start in April, will take in Scenic World, where passengers will get to experience the steepest-incline railway in the world, journey to the top of the mountains in a cable car and then soak up the view of the spectacular Three Sisters rock formation from the Skyway.
The optional experience is included in the fare and joins existing included off-train excursions in Kalgoorlie, Adelaide and Broken Hill.
The Indian Pacific is a cross-continental rail journey taking three nights and four days. It crosses the longest straight stretch of railway in the world as it traverses the Nullarbor Plain.
Journeys include food, beverages and off-train excursions.
