KEEPING fruit and vegetables fresh while travelling can be a problem - but, thanks to an Aussie trio, it doesn't have to be.
The aptly named Greenleaf Bag maintains the quality, freshness and nutritional value of produce stored in the fridge and comes in a handy size for motorhome and caravan travellers.
Developed with 100 per cent natural hemp fibres woven specifically for the product, the bags contain no harmful chemicals or plastics and are BPA, BPS and phthalate free.
"We've invested quite heavily into research to prove that our bags do indeed maintain the quality, flavour and firmness of fresh produce," said Wendy Allen, a partner behind Greenleaf Bag.
"Best of all, unlike plastic alternatives, the Greenleaf Bag doesn't contain any nasty chemicals or synthetic substances that could leach into your produce."
While testing the bags, the team found that without the Greenleaf Bags they were throwing out yellowed, wilted and bitter-tasting bunches of greens and vegetables that were flavoursome and nutritious when bought only a few days earlier - "an absolute waste".
The Greenleaf Bag is reusable and is priced at $24.50 or $49 for a travel pack of two.
We have a travel pack of 2 Greenleaf Bags to give away. Comp closes March 1, 2017.
