MITTAGONG'S Old Bank Boutique Hotel is offering a 30 per cent discount for guests staying three nights, valid until February 28.
Cream teas and light lunches have also been introduced for day visitors and overnight guests, allowing visitors to step back in time inside one of the most stately colonial-era buildings in the highlands.
The traditional British cream teas, served with clotted cream and home-made strawberry and vanilla bean jam, are priced from $18.50.
Located between Sydney and Canberra in the Southern Highlands, Victorian-Romanesque styled Old Bank was built in 1892 and operated as a bank and manager's residence for many years until falling into disrepair in the 1970s.
Warwick and Barbara Wainberg bought the property in 2009 and began restoring the building to its former glory, reopening in September last year.
There are five individually themed suites, a self-contained studio and free-standing cottage. It features open fireplaces, antiques and historic photographs throughout. Residents can relax in the library, lounge, terrace or fountain courtyard. The property is situated near antique shops, restaurants, cafes, gardens, national parks and country pubs as well as Lake Alexandra.
With the discount, a three-night stay is now available from $621, including breakfast. There are complimentary pick-ups from Mittagong Railway Station.
