AFTER nearly 20 years, Verdi's classic opera, Aida, will return to Cairo in Egypt.
Performed against the dramatic backdrop of the Sphinx and Great Pyramid, this tale of star-crossed lovers Radames and Aida will wow audiences with its impressive costumes and spectacular climax.
Written for the opening of the Cairo Opera House, the work was first performed in 1871.
The 2018 production will be performed by the Cairo Symphony Orchestra, conducted by David Crescenzi.
Luxury travel specialists Abercrombie & Kent has limited tickets for performances on March 8, 9 and 10, with tickets starting from $230 each.
