A new project by one of Australia's most acclaimed filmmakers which delves into the minds and processes of four celebrated, neurodiverse musicians is set to screen in select theatres around the country.
Scott Hicks' The Musical Mind...A Portrait In Process offers a vivid glimpse into the private worlds of four superstar musicians who are very different, but all connected by Hicks' Academy Award-nominated movie Shine.
Audiences will meet international rock star and former Silverchair frontman Daniel Johns, American rock maestro Ben Folds, renowned classical pianist Simon Tedeschi and piano virtuoso David Helfgott - whose life inspired the acclaimed film.

Johns discusses how his musical discoveries help him escape the chaos of existence in the film, while Folds explains how he manages to weave everyday fragments into complex symphonic arrangements.
Tedeschi will surprise audiences with the athletic physicality a nine-foot Steinway concert grand demands, while Helfgott explores how his love of water reflects the fluidity of his playing.
The musicians' stories are interwoven with portraits, created on camera by renowned artist Loribelle Spirovski.
The Beyond May30 Entertainment Production will be brought to screens by the team of writer/director Hicks, producer Kerry Heysen, writer and co-producer Jett Heysen-Hicks and executive producer David Chiem.
An Emmy, Peabody and multiple AACTA award-winning filmmaker, Scott Hicks has been nominated for two Academy Awards as director and writer.
He will be the special guest at a series of Q&A screenings around the country from November 18, with the film to open in cinemas from November 23.
