Sandringham Life Saving Club's drive to make all seniors welcome has seen it take out a top award.
It received Life Saving Victoria's Janet Jones OAM Inclusion Award for its Silver Salties program.
The Australia-wide program gives Victorians aged 65-plus the opportunity to enjoy the beach, learn vital skills, develop social connections and become involved with the surf lifesaving community. It is open to all seniors whether they are members or not.
The inclusion award is presented to a club, individual or program.

Sandringham president Vicky McKay said receiving the award it was an "absolute honour".
Silver Salties activities include beach fitness, beach surf sports, catching waves, club volunteering, first aid, guest speaker, club history helper, patrol, nipper barbecue and canteen helper, pool rescues, surf swim groups, tai chi and walk and talk.
During the pilot program, more than 2000 seniors participated in one or more programs at their local club.
