
The literary genius of Shakespeare with the musical brilliance of Mendelssohn will meet in a first of its kind collaboration this month.
Belvoir and the Sydney Symphony Orchestra will join forces to present A Midsummer Night's Dream for two nights only from August 26-27.

Audiences will be taken on a magical journey through Shakespeare's dreamscape during the performance, which will combine text from Shakespeare's whimsical masterpiece with music by Mendelssohn.
The Shakespeare work has been adapted and directed by award-winning Artistic Director Eamon Flack, with the orchestra to be helmed by chief conductor Simone Young.
Virginia Gay will star as Puck in the semi-staged adaptation, with the cast also including Sarah Meacham, Rose Riley, Jack Scott, Brigid Zengeni, Tim Walter and George Zhao.
Soprano Samantha Clarke, mezzo-soprano Anna Dowsley and Cantillation will perform Mendelssohn's score alongside the orchestra.
Performances will take place in the Sydney Opera House concert hall from 11am and 7pm on August 26 and 2pm and 7pm on August 27.
