Sydney Symphony Orchestra will present two special concerts to keep audiences warm this month.
Acclaimed Spanish pianist Javier Perianes will join the orchestra for Javier Perianes performs Beethoven.
There will be three performances of the concert - the first installment of a celebration of Beethoven's music which will take place in the Sydney Opera House Concert Hall from August 10-13.
The series of concerts will begin with a rendition of Beethoven's Third Piano Concerto.
Led by the orchestra's chief conductor Simone Young, the concert will also feature renditions of Beethoven's Eroica Symphony and Australian composer Brett Dean's Testament.
The latter work draws from Beethoven's famed Heiligenstadt Testament of 1802 - in which the composer confided about the inner turmoil he was experiencing as a result of his encroaching deafness.
The concert is the first of a concert series which will see Javier and the orchestra performing all five of Beethoven's piano concertos.
The concerts will take place from 8pm on August 10, 12 and 13 .
Celebrated Australian violinist Ray Chen and guest conductor Gemma New from New Zealand Symphony Orchestra will also join the orchestra for two special concerts in the Opera House concert hall this August.

He will then join the orchestra for performances of Beethoven's Fourth Symphony and the world premiere of Maria Grenfell's 50 Fanfares Commission Clockwerk.
The violinist will also join the orchestra for its performance of Max Richter: The Four Seasons on July 19 and 20.
The re-imagining of the famous Vivaldi work maintains the drama and excitement of the original, presenting it in a fresh way.
