Audio-visual equipment at Ziebell's Farmhouse Museum and Heritage Garden is set to be upgraded, courtesy of a $17,845 grant.
Ziebell's - which is run by the Friends of Westgarthtown, received the grant courtesy of the Victorian Government's Regional Collections Access Program.
Friends of Westgarthtown president Robert Wuchatsch said the group was thrilled to receive the grant.
"This upgrade will allow the Friends of Westgarthtown to expand our telling of the Westgarthtown and wider city of Whittlesea cultural heritage," he said.
Ziebell's director Gordon Johnston was equally excited about the incoming funds.
"The integration of this equipment will bring the museum to a higher professional standard as it develops into a relevant cultural institution," he said.
Westgarthtown is an historic dairy farming settlement which was established by German and Wendish immigrants in 1850.
The site includes Ziebell's Farmhouse - which is Victoria's oldest German immigrant building, a picturesque Lutheran Cemetery and Australia's oldest operating Lutheran Church. The first of the heritage garden's roses were planted in the early 1860's.
Opening hours for the site are 11.30am-2pm on Thursdays and 11.30am-3pm on Sundays. Group tours are available by appointment.
