Great views of cane fields and surrounding moutains can be enjoyed at a new camping area in Far North Queensland.
Mossman Golf Club has opened an 18-site RV camping area, offering visitors a place to stay and explore the region, and tee off.
Club captain John Carney was quick to point out the natural landscape surrounding the area.
"Campers will get great views of the cane fields and surrounding mountains at the doorstep to Mossman and the Daintree," he said.
The RV camping area is located at the rear boundary of the golf course at the Newell Beach turnoff, north of Mossman.
Douglas Shire Council did drainage works and approved the new RV Park earlier this year, providing a discount on infrastructure charges and deferred payment to give the new venture the best chance to succeed.
Mayor Kerr said the park provided an additional revenue stream for the community club.
"Everyone wants to see the Mossman Golf Club thrive and continue to be an important part of the community," he said.
"The new RV park has the potential to bring more visitors into Mossman and have them stay here longer."
