Are you a Brisbane senior wanting to step onto the stage and into the spotlight?
Well here's your chance to develop your singing, dancing, and instrumental skills and have a lot of fun as you do it.
Registrations have opened for free masterclasses with the best in show business before participants set the stage alight in showcases in venues across Brisbane.
The Lord Mayors Seniors Cabaret is a free development program providing Brisbane seniors with an opportunity to learn from the best in the biz while developing their creative and artistic talents.
Music theatre actor Dale Burridge, Renae Suttie who has performed with Ian Moss and Kate Miller-Heidke at the NRL Grand Final at Suncorp Stadium in 2021, and writer/composer Megan Shorey will be holding masterclasses across the city in July and August covering topics including overcoming stage fright, vocal technique, group singing, song and dance, less is more, how to hit those high notes, ukulele and voice and more. Last year around 185 seniors took part in the masterclasses.
This year's Seniors Cabaret theme is Golden Age of Pop - Music from the 1950s to 90s.
Participants get a chance to perform in showcase concerts with some going on to a Cabaret Gala on October 30 at Brisbane City Hall as part of Queensland Seniors Month.
