Some of the world's most gifted ballet dancers will head to Sydney this July.
The Sydney International Ballet Gala - World Stars of Ballet will debut at West HQ's Sydney Coliseum Theatre on June 16 and 17.
The show's world-class program will celebrate hundreds of years of ballet history, featuring excerpts from both the greatest classical ballet works and more contemporary dances.
The show will feature principal dancers and soloists from some of the world's leading companies, including The Australian Ballet, Royal New Zealand Ballet, San Francisco Ballet, Berlin State Ballet, Bavarian State Ballet and Dortmund Ballet.
The event will welcome Laura Fernandez to the stage as a special guest. Born in Switzerland, Laura is half Ukrainian, half Spanish, and studied at the Dance Academy Zurich and the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St Petersburg. Due to the tragic situation between Russia and Ukraine she was forced to leave Russia and move to Georgia, where she is currently a principal dancer with the nation's State Ballet.
Artistic director Slava Tutukin said the celebration aimed to unite connect artists and audiences "even in the most difficult of circumstances".
"Local and international artists will share their personal stories using dance as a universal language which for many generations has opened doors for communication across global cultures," Slava said.
The performance will also feature three world premieres and three Australian premieres created by some of the world's most acclaimed choreographers.
Dancers will include Grace Carroll and Bryce Latham (The Australian Ballet), San Francisco Ballet principal dancer Julian MacKay and Royal New Zealand Ballet principal Mayu Tanigaito.
The Gala will be hosted by special guest, ABC reporter, producer and presenter Nicole Chettle.
Performances will take place at 6pm and 3.30pm on both days and tickets start at $69 plus transaction fee.
