Second to the flu, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the leading cause of respiratory illness in adults. Older adults who get RSV may be at a greater risk for more severe infections, including pneumonia.
With no specific prevention options for adults, the C3671006 RSV vaccine study (also known as a clinical trial) is working to learn more about an investigational RSV vaccine when given with an annual flu vaccine.
This study lasts for about two months and will include three scheduled visits and occasional contact from the study team (eg, phone calls, emails, text messages). All participants will receive the investigational RSV vaccine and the flu vaccine at no cost. Taking part in this study is voluntary and you may leave at any time and for any reason.
