Melinda Schneider's Doris Day tribute shows have been a smash hit success, but she's getting ready to call it a Day, at least for now.
Melinda has spent the best part of the past 12 years celebrating the life and songs of Doris Day.
Her highly successful stage show DORIS, was followed by sell-out tours of her concert productions Melinda Does Doris: A Tribute to Doris Day (2015 - 2018) and A Farewell To Doris from 2015-2018 and 2019-2022 respectively.
Melinda is set to perform a special Mother's Day Farewell to Doris concert at the Cremorne Orpheum cinema, before resuming her current love songs tour.
The one-off performance comes at a fitting time, with the popular singer's Melinda Does Doris album having just been certified Gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA).
Signifying 35,000 sales, the Gold certification coincided with what would have been Doris Day's 100th birthday, making the accolade even more special.
"When I heard the news that my Melinda Does Doris album had reached Gold status, I was over the moon," she said.
"This Doris project has been a labour of love and a dream come true for me.
"Performing her classic songs and writing a stage show about her incredible life and career, as well as being able to bring it to huge venues all around Australia, including the Sydney Opera House are special times that will make me forever proud.
Melinda's current Love Songs show is inspired by the unconditional love she found with her long-time partner, Mark Gable, whom she is set to marry in September.
The emotional, intimate performance will see Melinda performing a selection of original love songs, alongside timeless romantic songs by Carole King, Joni Mitchell, Dolly Parton and more.
The show will also present previews of new songs from Melinda's 15th studio album, set to be released later this year.
