What can psycho-sexologist Chantelle Otten tell us about intimacy when you're older? Eager to learn what it is like to age gracefully on TV from legendary Neighbours actor Ian Smith?
Or would you like to hear from expert Dr Tim Crowe about tried and true methods to successful longevity?
All the answers, and much more, are contained in a new six-part podcast series Oldie Goodie; designed to highlight the perception of ageing and address the stigma of growing older in Australia.
Created by Uniting NSW.ACT, Oldie Goodie features TV host Nicky Buckley and clinical psychologist Melissa Levi who will be joined each week by a special guest for a deep dive into ageing.
The first episode, available from today, Tuesday, March 29, features veteran TV actor Ian Smith, best known for his role as Harold Bishop on Neighbours.
Ian opens up about his career and life, while providing some handy advice on the ageing process which will surely resonate with everyone.
Uniting's Director of Ageing, Saviour Buhagiar said: "The Oldie Goodie podcast series will make people think, celebrate ageing, and perhaps learn something they didn't know. This podcast doesn't shy away from asking difficult questions and is a must listen to for people of any age. "
Nicky Buckley said: "I've spent a life growing older in the public eye on television and I'm proud to bring my personal perspective to the Oldie Goodie podcast. Self esteem is important for us all, no matter what stage of life we are at and my learnings over my career and personal life definitely applies here."
The second episode will be released simultaneously on March 29, offering inspiration for those dreading retirement.
Veteran photographer-turned musician Richard Crawley helps navigate what is often called a "second wind"; uplifting older people in the community and explaining why retirement doesn't mean passion and zest for life needs to fade.
Other Oldie Goodie podcast topics include food, nutrition, love, relationships, sex and there's also an episode on death - all designed to help Australians understand and appreciate the benefits of growing older and finding their identity.
Oldie Goodie will be freely available on all major podcast channels from March 29 with new episodes following each week.
