Australia's longest-running and most popular all-historic motorsport event returns to Winton Motor Raceway near Benalla in May.
Historic Winton on May 28-29 will see more than 40 historic car, motorcycle and sidecar races featuring vehicles from the 1920s to the 1980s, as well as the traditional Sunday Parade Lap of selected display vehicles.
Reintroduced for the 45th event will be official displays, and spectators will be welcome to take along their historic cars, bikes, trucks, buses, caravans and other vehicles for a massive carpark display.
This year also marks the 50th year the Austin 7 Club, which organises the event, has been holding historic motorsport events at the Winton Motor Raceway.
"Prior to Historic Winton, the club ran sprints and time trial events at the venue," said club president Len Kerwood.
"These led to the bigger Historic Winton event being created after competitors expressed a keen interest."
Since then, the annual event has become renowned for a special camaraderie, with many ongoing interstate friendships made at the track.
It is one of the largest sporting events in rural Victoria and is revered for its exciting racing and great views of the entire track.
