Are you a big fan of 90s sitcom Friends? You don't need to rely on reruns any more, the gang is coming to a town near you, and they're getting musical.

Friends! The Musical Parody is touring Australia this year after proving to be a big hit in New York and Las Vegas.

The hit show will open in Adelaide on May 4, before heading to Hobart, Wollongong, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Perth and Melbourne.

Audiences can join their six favourite friends for a new musical that will provide plenty of laughs, with the action taking place at the gang's favourite cafe Central Perk.

Much like the hit sitcom, the show explores the misadventures of Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Joey and Phoebe as they navigate the pitfalls of work, life and love in 1990s Manhattan.

The show starts with the friends enjoying a typical day in their favourite cafe, before a runaway bride arrives on the scene and kicks the gang out of second gear.

Audiences will get to relive many of the best moments from the show's decade long run in an "an uncensored, fast-paced, music-filled romp".

Producer Sam Klinger said the cast and crew had a great time performing the show in Queensland last year and he was excited to be taking the show around the country.

"Come and see Friends! The Musical Parody - whether you're a Friends fan or not, you won't be disappointed," Sam said.

The show is directed by Dash Kruck, with choreography by Cameron Mitchell, set and costume design by Frances Hannaway, lighting design by Jason Glenwright and musical direction by Steven Kreamer.

The show is recommended for mature audiences aged 12 and over. Tickets are $79.90-$89.90.
