When times are tough, the Country Women's Association has always been on deck to help out and the Northern Rivers flood crisis has seen them swing into action.
CWA Coffs Harbour Branch president Jodie Williams said the branch rooms will be open to accept donations all weekend. The situation will be assessed next week.
The rooms at 3 Dalley St, Coffs Harbour, are a drop-off point for donations of emergency supplies to be assembled by the ladies into personal emergency packs for women, men, children and babies in flood-affected areas.
"The amazing CWA ladies on the ground in the Northern Rivers flood affected areas have listed the most necessary items and will help dispatch us these emergency packs to the most needed areas," Ms Williams said.
The rooms will be open every day (including this weekend) between 10am and noon to accept donated items.
The list of items includes soap, small bottles of shampoo/conditioner, toothbrush/ paste/denture glue, toothbrush covers, hairbrushes/combs/hair ties, deodorant, lip balms, moisturiser, Chux, face washers, towels, tissues (travel packet size), shavers/cream, sanitary items for women, incontinence pads and large ziplock bags.
The above items will be placed in the ziplock bags for distribution.
Ms Williams said they also need donations of torches/batteries, nappies/wipes, dummies, bottles/formula, sanitising solution for bottles, prams, baby blankets, sheets/pillows/blankets, small animal dry food/easy opening sachets/tins, animal leads/collars/harnesses, non-perishable food and new underwear for all.
"Let's rally together, Coffs, and show our Northern neighbours how much we are thinking of them in this time of displacement and utter confusion," Ms Williams said.
