Volunteering Gold Coast have been connecting communities for over 20 years, providing community programs for people 65 years old and over on the Gold Coast.

Our mission is to extend the impact of services and programs through a volunteering movement that empowers purposeful, connected and inclusive communities.

Community Transport

Do you need transport or know somebody who might? If you are registered with MyAgedCare, we can provide you with a door to door pick up service. That way you can keep your independence, and not rely on friends or family.

Social Outings: Meet new people and make new friends whilst visiting the best parts of the Gold Coast. Enjoy cafes, museums, art galleries, cinemas and so much more.

Shopping Club: Localised trips are organised for shopping outings at The Pines, Stockland Burleigh, Australia Fair and more, where you can enjoy 2 hours of shopping.

Appointments: Transport is available for everyday needs including medical appointments, hairdressers, visiting friends, exercise and more.

"I had an appointment at GCUH on Christmas Day. I had managed to get myself in quite a state as I didn't know how I was going to get there and home. Thankfully, my GP suggested your organisation. I could not have been more impressed with my dealings with you. From my first phone call to the lovely drivers who looked after me. You are all a credit to VGC. I thank you from the bottom of my heart." Shane-Mary Transport Client.

Community Visitor Scheme

Loneliness and isolation is becoming more and more common in everyday life due to restrictions with COVID. People are not able to travel to visit loved ones and spend quality time with them. Volunteering Gold Coast provide an initiative, funded by the Australian Government, the Community Visitor Scheme.

For one hour each week, you can receive a friendly visit from one of VGC's amazing volunteers. You can be matched with someone that shares similar cultural beliefs, hobbies and life experiences. It is the perfect way to make a new friend and to not feel so alone.

Volunteer

Most of the VGC services are government funded, and are sustainable thanks to the volunteers who generously give their time. Without the volunteers, we simply would not be sustainable.

Are you thinking of retiring? Perhaps you're not yet reliant on our services. However, you may be the perfect person to volunteer as a volunteer driver, a community visitor friend, or select a volunteer position that is aligned with your hobbies or interest.

Ask Yourself:

What do I love doing regularly?

What gives me joy?

How much time would I be able to honestly dedicate?

How far do I want to travel?
