Victoria's largest yuletide lights event, the Christmas Festival of Lights, has returned to Adventure Park, bringing with it more epic light installations, an extended walking trail, two new rides and more Christmas activities for youngsters.
Adventure Park's Christmas celebration kicked off on November 27 and will run for 43 days, transforming the water theme park just out of Geelong into a festive sparkling wonderland.
This year there'll be an extra 700,000 lights over a two-kilometre walking trail that will illuminate the night sky in a dazzling display for the third year in a row.
"We thought last year was big, but the 2021 event is even bigger with 2.7 million lights and some really jaw-dropping feature installations," said the park's managing director Bree Salmon.
New light installations include a Lunar Lantern Exhibit complete with majestic 20m dragon, lanterns and animals from the zodiac; a Fantasyland with a 12m smoke breathing dragon, a 8m caterpillar and butterflies; a 25m Psychedelic Tunnel; Loch Ness Monster, enormous angels and much more.
"Plus there's two new fun rides that kids will love, more food and drink options like the Schnapps Bar, more children's activities and live entertainment," Ms Salmon said.
All this on top pf displays full of animals, giant toys, enchanted gardens, fairytale scenes, winter wonderlands and the popular shimmering sparkle archway.
"The immersive and three-dimensional installations have been so popular so we've added loads more of these where you can get inside and underneath for the perfect family photo" Ms Salmon said.
Santa will return to the Park's Christmas Cave, where kids can write and post letters to the North Pole, and have professional photos taken with the jolly man in red at an additional cost.
Eight dry rides will be open including two new ones; the popular classic spinning Tea Cups and an Air Balloons ride where riders soar 20m into the sky for an epic view of the park before floating back down to earth.
Hear live music from the South Barwon Salvation Army Band performing Christmas carols every weeknight.
New children's activities include Christmas craft and face painting. Grown-ups can have a cheeky Christmas cocktail and enjoy dinner or a snack from one of several food outlets and vans that will be serving up delicious fare all night.
