Over-50s resort developer GemLife is going the extra mile for home buyers with a new travel-inspired initiative, Explore by GemLife, that lets homeowners at its Victorian resort, GemLife Woodend, hire a purpose-built motorhome as part of its lifestyle offering.

In a first for over-50s resorts, GemLife recently revealed its first fleet of strikingly designed upgraded motorhomes - available exclusively for residents - adding a new dimension to an already extensive range of lifestyle facilities at its Australian resorts.

GemLife Director & CEO Adrian Puljich said the initiative recognised the importance of travel for the over-50s market and meant residents could hit the open road regularly without the costs associated with owning and storing their own caravan or motorhome.

"At our Woodend resort, as well as all our resorts Australia-wide, travel is a huge passion for many homeowners. It's a big part of their lives. At GemLife we are always striving to innovate and bring something fresh to our offering, and that was the spark for Explore by GemLife," said Mr Puljich.

Available for homeowners to hire at just $130-$150 per night, well below the typical market rate, which can be up to triple the cost, each motorhome in the Explore by GemLife fleet features stunning original artwork of iconic Australian landscapes commissioned especially for the project. The GemLife Woodend vehicle sports an illustration of Victoria's iconic Great Ocean Road.

"Once the state's travel restrictions ease, the resort's Explore by GemLife motorhome will be a big attention-getter on the road - the artwork captures a sweeping sunset panorama across the Southern Ocean from this famous driving route," said Mr Puljich.

"A lot of residents own motorhomes or caravans but haven't been on the road as much as they expected, while others like the idea of owning an RV but have hesitated because they're unsure if they will use it enough to justify the cost and ongoing maintenance.

"Explore by GemLife helps solve that issue, giving residents the option to sell their existing motorhome, knowing they'll be able to hit the road when they want and continue to enjoy the lifestyle they desire."
