A high school student will have his hair cut for the first time in about six years to support the Leukemia Foundation.
Noah Hufton, 12, of Tamborine in Queensland's Scenic Rim region, will lose his long locks in front of his peers and is hoping to raise $1000 for the cause.
The Yarrabilba State Secondary College student said he was looking forward to having his hair cut after letting it grow for about half his life.
Even the school has been right behind the grade seven student, posting to Facebook a link to his fundraising page.
Mr Hufton is the only child at the school having his hair cut for charity this year.
"It is just me for now, but they are hoping more people will do it next year," he said.
Noah's mother Marie Hufton said her son had been given the chance to explain his fundraising on school assembly.
