IF you are able to go at short notice, the Ghan is offering savings of up to $1,250 per person on its four-day, three-night journey between Darwin and Adelaide.
But you must be quick... the special fares, applying to both Platinum and Gold Service, are only available for travel up until August 31.
Savings of up to $900 per person are also available on the three day/two-night Adelaide to Darwin journey until the end of August.
"These special fares are ideal for people who can travel at short notice and who may have been dreaming of a Ghan journey for a long time," Chief Commercial Officer for Journey Beyond, Peter Egglestone, said.
In its 90-year-plus history, The Ghan has weathered a number of challenges including a World War, the Great Depression and various pandemics.
Journey Beyond has introduced JourneySafe, its new operational plan to further enhance and protect guest wellbeing while travelling. It features measures including additional stringent cleaning and sanitising, new staff training, physical distancing and 'fit for travel' checks.
"Our guest and crew wellbeing is imperative and we've worked hard to balance the need to deliver incredible journeys while looking after our people," Mr Egglestone said.
