Eligible carers can expect to receive the Carer Supplement from July 1.
Those receiving an eligible payment on July 1 will receive up to $600 for each eligible person in their care.
Child Disability Assistance Payment (up to $1000 for each eligible child in care) will also be paid to those in receipt of an eligible pension on July 1.
The payments will be made into bank accounts by July 31 and recipients do not have to do anything to receive them.
Anyone who believes they are eligible and who does not receive the payment by that date should log on to their MyGov account to check if the payment has been issued and ensure bank account details are correct; or contact the Carers Line on 132-717.
The Carer Supplement is payable to those people on Carer Allowance, Carer Payment, Department of Veterans' Affairs Partner Service Pension and Carer Allowance or Department of Veterans' Affairs Carer Service Pension
You can't get the supplement if you only have a Carer Allowance Health Care Card.
