With more Australians than ever owning and sometimes travelling with a pet, there is now a way to help pet owners easily locate pet-friendly places, businesses and services in their neighbourhood or when they go away.
Like TripAdvisor for people, pet services platform PetCloud uses GPS technology to show the nearest dog parks and beaches, as well as dog-friendly cafes and pubs, with the option to review each place.
In an effort to help pet-friendly businesses get back on their feet after the pandemic, businesses and pet owners are invited to add details to the directory online so animal lovers can find the best places to take their pets in every city and town.
PetCloud chief executive Deb Morrison said the directory was already home to more than 12,000 places and businesses across the nation.
Just like us, dogs enjoy heading out for Sunday brunch and a walk on the beach and with this directory pet owners will never again have to worry about whether their four-legged friend is welcome at a cafe or allowed on a beach - all the information is right there in the palm of their hand, Deb said.
Its not just people who are holidaying here this year, its millions of pets too, and we want to see all creatures great and small enjoy everything Australia has to offer after a rough 12 months of lockdowns and self-isolating.
"With the help of this directory, we hope to support local businesses that welcome mans best friend. At last count there were more than 30 million pets in Australia thats more pets than people so being pet-friendly can mean big business for a pub or cafe.
PetCloud is inviting pet owners to add their favourite local haunts, and pet-friendly businesses can also add their details to the directory online, so animal lovers can find the best places to take their pets in every city and town.
