Impressionist artists have always been seen as ahead of their time. But a new exhibition in Sydney brings their works to life through a stunning application of light that even they could not have envisaged.

Grande Experiences' Monet & Friends - Life, Light & Colour takes visitors on a multi-media sensory journey of 19th-century Europe, as seen through the eyes of Claude Monet and the Impressionist masters.

Now on at theRoyal Hall of Industries in Moore Park, itis a large-scale experience, displaying in glorious detail masterpieces by Monet, Camille Pissarro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Paul Cezanne, Edgar Degas and more.

Revolutionary at the time, their depictions of modernity and movement, light and shadow have been admired and emulated by generations of artists.

For visitors, traditions of tiptoeing through silent galleries and viewing paintings from afar in quiet contemplation are forgotten as visitors find themselves interacting with works in a deeply personal way.

Viewing artworks from new angles and discovering unique perspectives, they also have the chance to examine the Impressionists' sources of inspiration via photographs and video displayed alongside their works.

This large-scale art event provides a Covid-safe environment that exceeds government public health guidelines. Controlled visitor capacities mean visitors can easily respect social-distancing advice.

The Royal Hall of Industries is aesthetically and spatially ideal for presenting the digital journey.

The spectacle is provided by Grande Experiences' state-of-the-art SENSORY4 immersive gallery, which brings together images from up to 40 high-definition projectors, cinema-quality surround sound and a powerful classical score.

Adults and children alike will forge their own paths and find their own meaning as they wander through the galleries, exploring hidden nooks, viewing artworks from new angles and discovering unique perspectives.
