WITH summer on our doorstep, it's time to start planning for the quintessential summer experience, Moonlight Cinema.
Celebrating 25 years of movies under the stars, this program kicks off with screenings in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in November and December.
Highlights are:
Opening night: Go back in time to the very first Moonlight screening in 1995 and experience Tarantino's timeless cult-classic Pulp Fiction all over again. (All venues except Brisbane)
Superhero Sundays: Sundays are for action and adventure, with the best superhero films of the last decade screening every week. They include the triple Oscar-winning Black Panther, Thor's race against time to save Asgard from destruction in Thor: Ragnarok, and Marvel's favourite intergalactic ragtag group, Guardians of the Galaxy.
Hits from this year: Catch up on Hollywood's biggest releases of the year with Tenet, starring Robert Pattinson, John David Washington and Elizabeth Debicki in a mind-bending journey of international espionage; and Liam Neeson's newest action-packed outing, Honest Thief, about a professional banker framed for murder by two FBI agents.
Families can enjoy Trolls World Tour, a sequel to the 2016 hit Trolls film, starring Anna Kendrick, Justin Timberlake, James Cordon and more.
The very best Australian talent will be proudly displayed with Rams, a heartfelt "dramedy" starring Sam Neill and Michael Caton as warring brothers.
Musicals at Moonlight: Warm up the vocal cords and belt out hits from The Greatest Showman, starring Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and Zendaya; and immerse yourself in the dreamy magic of Paris in Moulin Rouge, with Ewan McGregor and Nicole Kidman.
Christmas week: In the week leading up to the holidays, audiences will be treated to some of the biggest Christmas blockbusters ever - Love Actually, Elf, Home Alone, The Nightmare Before Christmas and more.
Taking place in sprawling parklands and with tailored measures set up to ensure cleanliness and comfort, movie-lovers can return to Moonlight with confidence to enjoy green parklands, balmy summer sunsets, and unforgettable quality time with loved ones. More than a movie experience, Moonlight is an opportunity to kick back in the outdoors and relish in the great outdoors.
Being a BYO event, Moonlight is an easy night out to plan. All you need to do is prepare a picnic of mouthwatering morsels, sweeties or a bottle of bubbly (no BYO alcohol at Brisbane venue).
And if you don't have time to pack your own, Moonlight Cinema has you covered with onsite food trucks offering up a licensed bar, tasty hot food and movie snacks.
This year you will be able to turn the dial up on your movie night with Moonlight's Gold Grass presented by AAMI. The exclusive packages offer a spacious area for you to lounge on bean beds, a premium view of the screen, and top-notch wait services. If you're an AAMI customer you could be eligible to receive $20 tickets and a gift on arrival - find out more HERE
You'll also be able to cool down with a complimentary ice cream in the Connoisseur Lounge or treat yourself to an espresso martini in the fully-catered Platinum Experience presented by Tia Maria.
