NOTHING says Northern Territory quite like camels racing through the red dust.
This year, you can watch the camels compete in the world-famous Uluru Camel Cup from your very own living room.
From 12:30pm AEST Saturday, you will be able to watch the red dust fly from the comfort of your couch, as the camels line up to race for bragging rights across three nail biting heats and two finals.
They'll be no crowds at this year's cup due to the COVID-19 restrictions, but organisers are taking the opportunity to broadcast the event to a wider audience.
Event organiser Chris Hill will MC the broadcast as well as take part in some of the usual activations; including a Saddlery and a damper making demonstration, a camel poo throwing competition and the judging of the Fashions 'Off' the Field - where locals have entered photos of their would-be 2020 Uluru Cup outfits.
"I am excited about the opportunity to showcase our event to possibly more people than ever before with the online broadcast of this year's Uluru Camel Cup," Mr Hill said.
"The events industry has taken a huge hit recently but we don't want people to miss out. The online streaming of this event allows us to showcase our event and provide an engaging experience to hopefully encourage future attendance."
The virtual 2020 Uluru Camel Cup will allow you to back a favourite and follow along for the full race experience, minus the lines for bars and toilets.
