AUSTRALIA Post is asking Australians to share inspirational letters of hope about their experiences during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Dear Australia initiative encourages Australians to share hand written letters, which will be sent to a national letterbox.
Community & consumer executive general manager Nicole Sheffield said the pandemic had highlighted the importance of connection.
"Writing a letter is a very human way to connect with people," she said.
"We're inviting individuals, schools, communities and organisations to write a letter to the nation about their own unique experiences during the pandemic."
Nicole said people could write messages of hope, stories of community spirit, poems, songs, artwork from children or grandchildren - anything uplifting.
"Whatever the reflection, this is a chance to share your story with the rest of Australia and preserve it for future generations."
Selected letters will be shared on Australia Post's Dear Australia website and people can share the campaign with friends using the hashtag #dearaustralia.
Eligible letters will be archived at the National Archives of Australia in Canberra after the conclusion of the initiative.
To take part, send letters or artworks to Dear Australia, Locked Bag, Australia 9999 with a stamp on the front of the envelope.
Letters can be placed in any red street post box and people are encouraged to post them before August 18.
