IT'S almost that time of year when it's time to bring out the slow cooker. And this slow cooked cardamom beef will sure to be a hit on the dinner table.
Ingredients
- 2 kg Diced chuck steak, grass fed
- 3 tbsp coconut oil
- 2 cans organic tomatoes
- 4 tsp Chinese Five Spice powder
- 2 tsp Cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp Vegetable Stock Powder
- 2 tbsp Beef Broth
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 brown onion, diced
Directions
1. Add 1 tbsp coconut oil to a pan, and turn on the heat to medium.
2. Add the onion and spices to the pan, and stir until onions are translucent and the spices are fragrant, and transfer to your slow cooker.
3. Keeping the pan on the heat, brown the beef in 3 batches, transferring to the slow cooker as you go. You may want to add 1-2 Tbsp of coconut oil to this as you go.
4. Add all of the remaining ingredients to the slow cooker, and stir through to combine.
5. Turn onto low, and slow cook for a minimum of 6 hours, or until beef is tender.
6. Serve with rice, cauliflower rice, wilted silver beet or spinach, or your chosen vegetable.
