NOOSA's tourism operators have banded together to support the Team Noosa Bushfire Appeal.
The operators are providing holiday packages to the NSW Rural Fire Service, Victorian Country Fire Authority, South Australian Country Fire Service and Queensland Fire and Emergency Services.
Tourism Noosa chief executive Melanie Anderson said Noosa wanted to demonstrate its collective community support by offering mini-breaks to give bushfire victims and hardworking fire-fighters a well-deserved break.
The region's tourism industry has provided a range of holiday experiences including accommodation, tours and dining. Noosa Weddings Organisation has even offered assistance with weddings for those affected by the fires.
"Together with cash donations, which will go towards flights, we are wanting to bring some joy and hope back to these regional communities who have lost so much," Ms Anderson said.
Already more than 60 businesses have donated packages with a value of more than $100,000.
The packages will be given to the various state fire services to be distributed to firefighters, displaced families and or to use in raffles to raise further funds.
"We hope our packages will give some relief to our southern friends to escape the difficulty of rebuilding in the coming months and for the amazing firefighters who have given so much," Ms Anderson said.
"When they arrive in our paradise we will ensure they have an amazing time and wrap our arms around them."
