WHERE ARE THE NSW BUSHFIRES?
At 9am on Friday there were 134 blazes continuing to burn across NSW, with 53 uncontained, and all at advice level.
Potential fire spread maps issued for Friday show that major towns including Eden, Batemans Bay and Nowra could come under fresh threat, as well as Tumbarumba, Batlow and areas east of Albury.
HOW MANY PEOPLE HAVE DIED?
Since July, 20 people have died in the NSW bushfires, including three firefighters.
This is in addition to 6200 livestock and millions of wild animals.
HOW MANY HOMES HAVE BEEN LOST?
Authorities confirmed that 1995 NSW homes have been destroyed since the start of the fire season, with more than 750 damaged.
More than 1000 have been confirmed destroyed in 2020 alone.
Almost 200 facilities and 3774 outbuildings have also been razed.
THE WARNINGS
The NSW Rural Fire Service has placed total fire bans on 10 regions across the state on Friday ahead of forecast hot and windy weather.
An extreme fire warning is in place for the southern slopes while severe fire warnings have been issued for four other southern regions.
THE FORECAST
A southwesterly wind change is expected to impact inland fires on Friday afternoon with a gusty southerly change forecast to affect coastal towns from the evening.
Temperatures of high 30s to low 40s are expected across parts of the state.
THE ROADS
The Princes Highway is closed in both directions from Narrabarba to past the Victorian border.
The Monaro Highway is closed in both directions from Bombala to past the Victorian border.
Cooma Road is closed in both directions between Braidwood and Cooma.
The Kings Highway is closed in both directions between Braidwood and North Batemans Bay.
Braidwood Road/Nerriga Road is closed in both directions between Nowra Hill and Charleyong.
Wombeyan Caves Road is closed in both directions from High Range to Taralga.
