Julie Goodwin, the first winner of Australian television series MasterChef, will be the headline guest at WA's Taste Great Southern food celebration, to be held from March 26-April 5.

More than 25 chefs and presenters - including 2019 WA MasterChef finalist Derek Lau, celebrity cook and Denmark local Anna Gare, renowned native ingredient forager Paul Iskov from pop-up restaurant Fervor, and Amy Hamilton from award-winning Albany eatery Liberte - will cook at more than 30 events centred on towns such as Albany, Denmark, Mount Barker, Porongurup, Frankland River and Katanning.

Selected from more than 7000 applicants. Goodwin won the initial series of MasterChef Australia in 2009.

Since then, she has appeared on numerous TV shows and written several cookbooks. She also co-hosts a morning radio slot.

Taste Great Southern will provide a feast of food and wine amid the region's amazing built and natural attractions.
