A new celebrity cookbook, Recipes to Remember, will raise funds to keep a community dementia bus on the road with advanced technology and two staff.
The aim is for the bus to visit a minimum of two locations each week covering metro, regional and rural WA, to support those living with dementia.
The new book is part of the Roast to Remember fundraising initiative.
"For those living with dementia, life can be confusing, frustrating and sometimes frightening," said Community Vision chief executive Michelle Jenkins said.
"But the smell of a roast meal can conjure up warm, reassuring memories.
"This is where the A Roast to Remember fundraising concept was born."
The idea is for people to invite friends, family and neighbours together for a special fundraising roast dinner.
The book features recipes from 22 "Perthonalities" including cook Anna Gare, Perth Glory player Dino Djulbic, butcher Vince Garreffa, presenter Verity James and Seniors Minister Mick Murray.
Each has shared a recipe for either an entree, favourite roast dish or dessert, as well as their personal experiences with dementia.
Anna Gare spoke about her mum Kate, who has lived with dementia for 12 years. "She says there's nothing wrong with being demented, you just have to live in the now, and that's all she can do.
"She's funny and often inappropriate, we laugh a lot and sometimes cry.
"I chose to include slow-roasted pork belly because like most people, she adores crunchy and succulent roast pork belly."
The bus provides respite and advice to dementia carers as well as education and breakthrough therapies.
The recipe book can be bought online.
