Food and wine, music, history - Yass Valley offers plenty of spring entertainment.

SPRING is one of the best times of year to visit Yass Valley, in the southwest slopes of NSW, as the region brims with exciting spring events,

It is the busiest time of year for events, with the region celebrating everything from local food and wine, to gardens and music with a little history thrown in.

Music and family entertainment will be the focus at the Gundaroo Music Festival on October 26, while two heritage events in November take a trip back to yesteryear - Classic Yass on November 2 and the Bowning Country Fair on November 17.

At Classic Yass take a trip down memory lane with cars from the early 1900s through to the 70s, vintage memorabilia, music from the 50s, 60s and 70s, a billy cart derby and markets.

At the Bowning Country Fair enjoy a big dose of country charm as the Rollonin Café hosts this country fair complete with market stalls, live entertainment, antique farm machinery, sheep shearing and more.

Food and wine enthusiasts can sip their way through wines with delicious food and live music at the Hills of Hall Spring Wine Festival on the weekend of November 2-3.

Yass Valley is located around three hours' drive from Sydney, and just half an hour from Canberra, and makes the perfect weekend or short break destination.
