THE romance of aviation will be brought to life when vintage warbirds join forces with classic aircraft and modern jets to showcase a feast of aviation action in New Zealand next year.
Warbirds Over Wanaka is three days of high-octane excitement held every two years at Wanaka Airport, a short hop from Queenstown.
Grand Pacific Tours offers three exclusive itineraries taking in the event, held over Easter: the eight-day South Island Escape, 13-day South Island Getaway or 15-day Warbirds Over Wanaka Tour.
All include a three-day gold pass to Warbirds Over Wanaka, giving you the best seats at the airshow in a grandstand situated directly in front of the runway. All seats are elevated for unobstructed viewing.
Guests will also have exclusive access into the marquee, where closed circuit TV will be available and pilots will mingle.
As well as the airshow, travellers will enjoy some of NZ's best attractions and each itinerary contains unique differences depending on your budget, time and areas of interest.
Highlights include the TranzAlpine rail journey; Milford Sound cruise and lunch; a Speight's Brewery tour and tasting; Larnach Castle - New Zealand's oldest; and city sights tours of Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin.
Prices start from $4084 per person twin share including return airfares, 4 - 4.5-star accommodation, four-night stay in Queenstown, most meals, sightseeing and attractions.
