John Southon is now a finalist in the NSW/ACT Regional Achievement and Community Awards.
The Trundle Central School principal has been nominated for a TransGrid Leadership Award and earlier this month was announced a semi finalist in the category.
John has shown selfless dedication for his community, coordinating multiple individuals and agencies to deliver sustained drought relief to Trundle.
Under John's leadership, students have been empowered to help their families in times of significant rural need.
In the last 12 months, the school community has secured 250 food and toiletry packages and has injected $70,000 into the Trundle economy.
Winners of the annual awards will be announced at an Awards Gala Presentation Dinner at Fairmont Resort & Spa Blue Mountains on November 8.
All finalists will go into the People's Choice Award, which is run through the award program's Facebook page. 'Like' the page and people can vote for their favourite finalist.
The winner will be announced at the gala dinner.
Community members including friends and colleagues of each finalist are invited to share the special occasion. Tickets are $120.00 each which includes a three-course meal, beverages and entertainment. Tickets can be purchased online by visiting awardsaustralia.com/nswactraca and clicking on the "purchase tickets" icon.
