IF ENCOUNTERS with the paranormal and spooky, spine tingling spirit experiences are your idea of a good time then a visit to Sydney's Q Station could be just the ghostly ticket.
The site is offering a range of special Halloween ghost tours from October 25 to November 2 designed to cater for a wide range of ages, sceptics and believers.
Q Station, formerly known as the North Head Quarantine Station is consistently voted as one of the most haunted sites in Australia.
More than 572 bodies are recorded to be buried on the property as it was the final resting place for many migrants who suffered arduous journeys to Australia on ships plagued by infectious diseases.
The Quarantine Station was open from 1828 - 1984 and witness to more than 150 years of misfortune. Untimely deaths have left behind many stories of pain, loss and suffering as well as the restless spirits which reputedly continue to haunt the site today.
Family Fright Night: for ages 8-14 with accompanying adults, will take family groups on a 90 minute wild adventure through haunted spaces with many surprises. $40 adult, $32 child.
Halloween Scream: is designed for those aged 15 plus and is a fun tour for those who may not believe in ghosts but want to enjoy a scare or two as they visit the Q Station's shadowy buildings. $40pp.
Ghostly Encounters: will run every night for those aged 15 plus. This storytelling tour will include some of the Quarantine Station's history to set the scene followed by ghostly tales of unexpected happenings guaranteed to send shivers down your spine. By lantern light your guide will take you through the infamous shower block, historic hospital precinct and the creepy gravediggers cottage. $49pp (Saturday surcharge applies).
Spirit Investigator: Investigate the paranormal presences at the Quarantine Station using the latest ghost hunting equipment. Program takes four hours and is for ages 18 plus. $125pp
