WHAT'S old is new again, with over-50s insurance brand, Australian Seniors Insurance Agency opening its second bricks-and-mortar store.
The new shop in Lake Haven, NSW, is the second Australian Seniors store nationally and the first for the Central Coast.
Building on its first ever physical store in Castle Hill, Sydney, this second shopfront cements Greenstone Financial Services (which owns the Australian Seniors Insurance Agency brand) commitment to bucking the digital-first trend and giving customers more choice.
According to research carried out by Greenstone, one in four seniors find the idea of a bricks and mortar store appealing.
"We're doing things a new way, which is actually the old way," said Greenstone chief customer officer and Australian Seniors spokesperson, Sarah Richards at the official store opening on August 13.
She said the physical presence offers an opportunity to engage in face-to-face conversation and complements the direct-to-consumer model of business offered by the brand which provides a number of insurance solutions from travel to funeral insurance for Australia's over-50s.
"The opening of our second Australian Seniors retail store is paramount to ensuring we continue to speak to our customers in a way that best suits them.
"Our research tells us our customers value face-to-face conversation and we've found that to be true with the success seen in our Castle Towers store in Sydney.
"We're proud to have reached this milestone and hope the Lake Haven community take advantage of all we have to offer."
There will be five team members working in the store, located inside Lake Haven Shopping Centre opposite the Post Office including insurance specialists, a concierge and a connect officer.
When customers visit the store they can get quotes and buy insurance products face-to-face or use a self-service booth. There are also information hub stations, private consultation rooms and free wifi.
Free in-house workshops on a variety of topics will also be held throughout the year.
Following the success in the Castle Hill community, the Lake Haven store has also launched its 'Supporting Seniors' program for local community groups.
Visitors to the store can vote for one of two chosen community groups, with the one receiving the most votes getting a donation of $1000 and the other getting $500.
The first to groups to benefit from the program will be the Lake Munmorah 50+ Leisure & Learning Centre and Senior Centre and the Toukley Torch Bearers for Legacy.
Voting on this round is open until October 15. The program runs on a quarterly basis.
