ROLL UP for a magical mystery tour of The Beatles' biggest chart toppers when one of Australia's leading ladies of the stage tours Australia.

Stage and screen star Naomi Price (Beautiful: The Carole King Musical; Ladies in Black; The Voice Australia) will be taking fans through a kaleidoscopic journey of the fab four's best hits in her pop culture cabaret show, Lady Beatle, which kicks off in Queensland.

Price stars as the titular character, revealing a whimsical tale inspired by true events and set to a soundtrack of the Fab Four's biggest hits.

In the show, co-written with Adam Brunes, Price will take audiences on a ride to 1960s Liverpool accompanied by a live band and will sing classics incluing Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds, Eleanor Rigby, Yellow Submarine and Penny Lane.

Price described her alter-ego, Lady Beatle, as "an enigmatic and wholly original character".

"She could be The Beatles' biggest fan, or she could be someone entirely different and I take such delight in teasing out her true identity until she makes her swansong," she said.

"When Adam and I delved into The Beatles' remarkable catalogue to create the show, we discovered their world was populated with seemingly ordinary people - the barber, banker, fireman and nurse in Penny Lane; the meter maid star of Lovely Rita; the teenage runaway who inspired She's Leaving Home - ordinary people who have unknowingly become part of an extraordinary musical and cultural legacy.

"Lady Beatle is our homage to these characters and others whose stories might never have been told were it not for four ordinary lads from Liverpool."

The show kicks off at La Boite's Roundhouse Theatre on August 7 before heading to HOTA on the Gold Coast on August 14, then twisting and turning through and shout through 30 other venues across Australia as part of a three-month tour.

HOTA chief executive Criena Gehrke said audiences are in for a "real treat" with show for fans of all ages.

"Who doesn't love The Beatles music? This is a big, bold show and Naomi Price is just incredible. You'll end up on your feet singing along, I know I will," she said.
