FANS of Belgian detective Hercule Poirot and actor David Suchet rejoice: they're returning to Australia next year.
Poirot and More: A Retrospective, touring in January and February, will highlight the actor behind the detective and the many faces he's portrayed on stage and screen over a career spanning five decades.
For more than 25 years Suchet captivated millions worldwide as Agatha Christie's elegant detective Poirot.
He has also been celebrated for his portrayal of roles such as Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest, and as Cardinal Benelli in The Last Confession.
In this new live stage show, audiences will discover why Suchet is renowned for not only becoming the role, but also taking on the personalities of some of television, film and theatre's most fascinating characters.
The multi-award winner starred in all 74 Poirot television movies over 25 years.
He has also appeared in The Life of Freud, The Way We Live Now, Great Expectations and, more recently, Dr Who and Press.
Suchet admits he's excited to return to Australia (he was last here performing in The Last Confession).
"Australian audiences hold a special place in my heart and I am very much looking forward to sharing some of my story and some of my favourite theatrical moments with them," he said.
